Boutique Service, Big Results With Barb Blackhall, from White Picket Real Estate

Barb Blackhall knows that in real estate, it’s not about being the biggest—it’s about being the best. As the owner and licensee of White Picket Real Estate, she has built a boutique agency where clients receive a level of care and attention they won’t find elsewhere.
“Buying and selling houses is something I do every day, but for my clients, it’s a huge life event. It can be stressful and emotional, and they need someone who is going to guide them through it with empathy,” Barb explains.
With decades of experience in the industry, she’s seen firsthand how large agencies can leave clients feeling like just another number. That’s why she set out to create a business that prioritises communication, consistency, and trust.
“At White Picket Real Estate, you deal with the same person every time. We keep our clients informed every step of the way, because when they understand the process, they feel more confident in their decisions,” she says.
Since launching in 2022 with a focus on sales and expanding to rentals in 2023, Barb has been dedicated to growing her business while maintaining its core values of personalised service.
She entered the real estate world at age 17, starting as a receptionist before working her way through sales, rentals, and management. That hands-on experience across every facet of the industry has shaped her approach and given her a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed.
Her advice to young women looking to follow in her footsteps is simple: work hard, stay curious, and invest time in understanding every part of the business.
“Be prepared to start at the bottom and work your way up. Learn from those around you. No matter how long you’ve been in this industry, you never stop learning,” she says.
Balancing the demands of running a business and maintaining a personal life is no easy feat, but Barb has a clear strategy—stay focused and work smart.
“I don’t procrastinate. I find the busier I am, the more productive I am. It’s about making the most of your working hours so you can enjoy life outside of them,” she says.
Through her boutique agency, Barb has carved out a space where professionalism meets genuine care, proving that success in real estate isn’t about how many properties you list, but how well you look after the people behind them.
