Fiz's future goals include deepening her expertise in workplace culture and psychological safety. Additionally, she's passionate about mentoring other women, promoting inclusivity and support.
What’s your favourite activity to unwind?
“My Husband and I love walking from the Sailing Club around to the Cannonvale Foreshore. I love bumping into other Council employees enjoying the sunshine!”

Billie Davis
Senior Commercial Officer in Aviation & Tourism
With a dedicated 15 years in the legal field, Billie is driven by a love for law and its impact on daily life. She uses this knowledge every day in her role as Senior Commercial Officer in Aviation and Tourism.
“I’ve always had a love for the law in how it is created, interpreted, and affects daily life, oh and Elle Woods of course.”
She credits her mentors, Suzanne Brown, Kristin Conlon, and Marianne Lloyd-Morgan, for their support throughout her career.
“They have been nothing but inspiring with their careers, knowledge, achievements, and how they have shaped how women are perceived in law,” Billie shares.
Billie believes in balancing both employer and community interests in decision-making, something her long-standing tenure at Council has taught her.

Patricia (Patty) Jago

For Patty, it is all about making a positive impact and empowering individuals to understand local government and its role in the community.
"I've always been passionate about my work, driven by a desire to make a positive impact and help others," she shares.
"Without a university education, I've relied on self-directed learning and determination.” Patty aims to inspire that drive among her peers.
She finds balance through running and one of her shining achievements is being the first female finisher of the Airlie Beach Marathon.
Looking ahead, Patty is focused on fostering growth within her team with ongoing training and development opportunities, enabling them to take on increasingly complex responsibilities.
What are your must-have tech accessories?
“The ABC Kids app on my phone for my gorgeous grandchildren, and my Garmin to track my kms for marathon training.”

Sandra Kay Black
Disaster Management Coordinator & Local Recovery Coordinator
Sandra has been with Council for an impressive 27 years and loves how her role has evolved over the years.
“I loved the idea of helping communities and learning a new skill,” she shares about her start in disaster recovery. Sandra was proud to be nominated for an “Everyday Hero Award” and was a finalist for her work after TC Debbie.
Inspired by Anne Leadbeater, Sandra is an expert in her field with guiding her efforts, inspiring her community journey and learning new approaches to resilience.
“I feature in a book about resilient women, ‘Campfire for the Woman’s Heart,’” she adds, reflecting on the challenges she faced after TC Debbie.
Sandra’s mantra: “My family, my health, my job, and my wealth.” Her future goal is to continue supporting her community and daughter, Harriet’s, growth because “If you don’t take risks, nothing happens!”
