The path to success began when John brought his extensive experience from Hay Point, joined by Justin’s enthusiasm as the company’s very first official employee. Their small operation initially handled basic fabrication tasks, but their curiosity led them to explore the innovative possibilities of waterjet cutting. What began with a single machine grew into one of the most comprehensive waterjet profiling workshops in Australia, boasting capabilities that set Evolution Engineering apart in both skill and service.
“Our waterjet machines are a game-changer,” says Managing Director John.
“We can cut virtually all types of speciality metals including QT plate, wear plate, all alloys, brass and bronze, as well as other materials such as wood, plastic, rubber and even some softer stones”
Waterjet profiling’s cold-cutting technique allows the team to eliminate heat-affected zones in the material which doesn’t compromise the structural integrity of the material properise. This makes waterjet profiling ideal for sensitive, high-spec components, from complex shapes to fine details.
“With waterjets, we get precision without compromising the integrity of the material,” director Joe explains. Whether it’s a delicate bevelled edge on metal alloy or a sharp corner on porcelain, Evolution Engineering delivers clean, intricate cuts that are both quick and exact.
As Evolution Engineering expanded, so did its capabilities. With each new waterjet, they welcomed more complex projects, evolving into a one-stop shop where clients’ visions come to life under one roof.
“Having everything done in-house allows us to control quality and meet tight deadlines,” Melissa said. Her role as Corporate Services Manager ties every operation together, ensuring projects progress smoothly from start to finish.
